Ketoprofen is one of the propionic acid class of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and anti-pyretic effects. It acts by inhibiting the body's production of prostaglandin. Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) effective in treating fever, pain, and inflammation in the body.
Ketoprofen has been demonstrated to be more potent than Ibuprofen and works faster than orals and avoids the gastroenterological tracts complications. Ketoprofen is excellent alternatives for those who are worried about the growing number of unwanted side effects and safety concerns related to the usage of many prescriptions and over the counter oral NSAID medications. Ketoprofen is preferred for deeper pain and is commonly used to treat athletic related injuries and chronic inflammation such as Arthritis. Ketoprofen is also effective in the treatment of a variety of conditions of inflammation and pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, tendonitis and bursitis.
Capsaicin is used for the temporary relief of pain from neuropathic pain, diabetic neuropathy, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and relief of neuralgias such as shingles/herpes zoster. This medication may also be used for other conditions as determined by your physician. Menthol and Camphor cool the site causing a mild analgesic effect.
How to use your medication:
Apply to intact skin. It is absorbed best after increasing circulation such as after a warm shower or applying a hot compress.
Side effects:
This compound may cause local irritation or rash at the site of administration when applied topically. If it is bothersome, or if you experience any other side effects not mentioned above, contact your physician or pharmacist. Patient may also experience a feeling of warmth or coolness. This is considered normal and does not indicate an allergic reaction.
Precautions:
Do not use this medication if you have had unusual or allergic reactions to the following medications: aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, or any other medicine used to treat pain, fever swelling, or arthritis. This medication may add to the effects of depressants or alcohol when taken orally. It is unlikely with a topical form, but discuss with physician or pharmacist if you have questions.
Directions:
This medication is for topical use only. Apply the compound to the affected area, in a thin smooth film, 2 to 3 times daily (as needed). If wearing a brace over the gel, make sure to first air out the area for approximately 30 minutes. This gel is easily removed with water. The cream should be massaged into the affected area(s) for about 30-60 seconds. Do not use the cream on skin that is irritated, peeling, or infected or on open wounds. Wait until these conditions have fully healed before using the cream.
Patients should always follow their physician or pharmacist instructions. Patients should not exceed dosage prescribed by their physician.
Storage:
This medication should be stored at room temperature away from heat and light and away from children.
